My Addiction To Myspace
I don't really have any particular hobbies, but there is one thing that I do everyday. That would be to check my Myspace. There is so many things for me to do on Myspace. Of course I start off by logging in, but my favorite things are: listening to music, messaging friends, connecting with old friends, uploading pictures, or making my profile page better. That’s why I would consider Myspace to be my hobby.
For example, I wake up every morning going straight to the computer to log in. Then I take my puppy out, get my daughter a bowl of cereal for breakfast, and go back to the computer to check my Myspace. First thing I have to do is sign in with my e-mail address and my password. Then it brings me to my homepage. On my homepage it asks me for my status and mood. It also lets me know if I have any new messages, comments, photo comments, new friends, friend requests, or if any of my friends are on-line.
For instance, to keep in touch with my friends I love to message and send them comments. It is just like e-mailing someone, but the message goes to their Myspace instead of and e-mail account. There’s also links that they have where you can send funny sayings, quotes, pictures, and much more just in a message. I have friends in other states that I send comments to, just to catch up and see how things are going for them.
On the other hand, I also like to connect with old friends on Myspace. All I have to do is go to the link that says find friends. I just have to type in their name and it finds the person I’m looking for if they have a Myspace. If the person I’m looking for is brought up then I just click on their profile and send them a friend request. For example: I wanted to get in touch with my girlfriend, Cassy, from Florida. I looked up her name and her picture came up so I sent her a friend request to become her friend. Now we can message each other as much as we want. So this helps me keep in touch with old and new friends.
However, the most relaxing part of my Myspace is that I can listen to music while I’m doing anything on there. Since Myspace has it’s own music link I can download any music I want to. This way it makes it easy for me to create my own play lists. I also have my music set up on my profile page for when you go to my profile my music plays for everyone.
Nonetheless, I also love the fact that I can upload any of my pictures from my computer and make photo albums. I have sixteen photo albums on my profile for everyone to look at. I have pictures of Lexi, Dave (my boyfriend), my family, and myself. I also have a few albums of Beer Pong. So you can see my friends and I being silly and acting all crazy. Of course, I have an album of my cat and new puppy too.
On the contrary, I take pride in my profile page. I put a lot of work and sweat (lol) into making my page. It took me at least a few months to get my page just the way I wanted it. I have purple, pink, and blue stars as my background. I have tons of quotes on my page that I like. A lot of them mean something. One of my favorites is, “Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. Nobody said that it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.” I also have pictures, my top friends, and my comments that I get from my friends. If you would ever like to check it out, my profile name is Angel Eyes. If you send me a friend request I’d be more then happy to be your friend.
In conclusion, morning or night I love being on my Myspace. In my eyes I
wouldn’t call this a hobby, but others might. I personally would call this my addiction. I’m addicted to my computer. It is just as bad as being on my phone. I can’t live without either of them. At least on the computer I can do a lot more things that I like to do. Logging on to send messages, connect with friends, listen to music, upload pictures, or make my profile just the way I want, it is my addiction. I guess that I could consider Myspace to be my hobby with so many fun things to do.
